APMEA sales drive McDonald's growth

A 10.5 per cent increase in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) sales in February has helped drive McDonald's growth, when compared with the same period last year.

The fast food restaurant operator has reported a 4.8 per cent increase in comparable sales for the month ending 28 February, which considers all outlets in operation for at least 13 months.

European sales increased by nearly 5.5 per cent, fuelled by the UK and French markets, while Japan, China and Australia contributed towards APMEA's strong performance. US sales were up 0.6 per cent.
